DC
sniper sentenced to death will be shot at ‘point blank range’
- Blix Panda
Infamous DC sniper, John Allen Muhammad was sentenced to death
this week as the judge in the case made the unusual step of asking
for “death by firearm at point blank range.”
The ACLU jumped in immediately saying that, “Muhammad’s
constitutional right to death from a distance is being grossly
violated.”
Standing in his orange jump suit Muhammad took the sentencing
calmly. His attorney, while conceding to the courts wishes, argued
firmly against the manner of termination. The prosecution refused
to budge. “This guy is a discredit to the human race. I
think he is getting off light. Quick and painless. If it were
up to me I would have pushed for death at close range by B.B.
gun.”
This new method of execution has legal analyst perplexed. How
exactly do they carry this out? Some analyst envision a sort of
“glory hole” method where Muhammad places his face
near a hole in a wall and someone on the other side sticks a gun
through.
Currently there is no one licensed within the penal system to
carry out such measures, leaving victim’s families to call
for a “drawing” amongst themselves for the opportunity
to execute Muhammad.
One family member suggested they auction the execution to the
highest bidder.
